JMK BMW To Host The Area's First "i3 EVent"

On Thursday, January 16th, (tomorrow) JMK BMW in Springfield NJ is hosting a "Get to know the BMW i3" event from 10:00am to 7:00pm. For most, it will be the very first time they have the opportunity to actually see the i3 in person and test drive it. JMK client adviser and i3 product specialist Manny Antunes will be there to answer questions and take reservations on the spot if you decide to order an i3 while you are there.

I have been working with JMK to help prepare them for the coming i brand cars and have already ordered my i3 through JMK. I appreciate that JMK recognizes that these cars are different, and will elicit different questions and concerns from their potential buyers so I have personally tried to help prepare them for these potential issues. It's encouraging that they understand this and have reached out to make sure they can offer the best possible customer experience and service.  That is why I recommend considering JMK if you are from the area and considering an i3 or i8.

I will also be there for most of the day to help answer questions and provide information to anybody interested in my personal experience driving and living with an electric car. I hope to see you there and please introduce yourself to me if you've been following my blog, I love to meet the readers in person.

  1. Sounds like a fun event. It looks liek we will not be ordering an i3 right away. We missed the demo that BMW had around the time of the L.A. Auto Show so we still have not seen or driven the car. And, we've been notified that we must place our orders by January 17th but our dealer, Century West BMW in Studio City, will not have product to show and drive until around the 25th when they will have an open house event. That just doesn't work for us. Plus, it looks like the "gift" to ActiveE testers will be some sort of Electronaut extra that our salesman knows nothing about. I think we can safely miss the deadline on the 17th and loose out on whatever bauble it is in order to see and drive the car before ordering. Then there is the REx/no REx dilemma. I'm still on the fence and thinking a second Volt would be a sure bet where this is a big unknown and untried quantity. I'm not interested in a $55K blind leap.

    1. Joe: You have to tell your dealer by Monday the 20th, not the 17th anymore. Also, you aren't committed to it. If you tell them to order you one, you don't have to leave a deposit and you aren't committed to buying it is you decide not to once you get the rest of the details and test drive one. So you aren't locked into a purchase, BMW just needs advance notice of how many Electronaut Edition i3's they need to allocate

  2. Thanks Tom, did you order the electronaut edition i3? Do you know what's included in that special edition i3?

    1. Yes I did. BMW hasn't told us what the special Electronaut Edition i3 will be, only that it will include equipment that isn't available on any other i3. We will also get the first cars that come to the US. This has been a point of contention to many of the Electronauts (see Joe's comment above). We have been asked to put in our order but we don't quite know what we are getting. Hopefully the full details will come soon.

  4. I didn't see this until today (the 17th) so it's too late, but I might have tried to come, even though it's a long drive.
